Technological Initiative

Open Congress, as a software, should be an Open Source platform created by the People and made freely available to any nation wishing to implement direct democracy. The core values of transparency, collaboration and participation should be built at the center of the system. Before building the platform, together we should decide how it should work. Together we can identify and overcome potential technological challenges.

Brief:

Open Congress, as an online legislative platform, should enable the People of a nation to introduce, debate and vote and all pieces of legislation. If Open Congress is to rely on study committees to review the adequacy and accuracy of the studies accompanying legislative drafts, the system should also provide the means for voters to elect committee members and for committee members to deliver their reviews.
